Born on 5th January 1986 (34 years ole) in Copenhagen, Denmark, Deepika Padukone was brought up in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She studied from Sophia High School, Bengaluru and Mount Carmel College.
Deepika Padukone is the daughter of a well-known badminton player, Prakash Padukone.
Like her father she too took immense interest in playing badminton since childhood.
She participated in many national level badminton championships during her school days.
She also worked as a model and featured in several advertising campaigns as a child. Later on, she changed her mind and shifted her focus from becoming a badminton player to a fashion model.

Deepika Padukone’s Career
Deepika Padukone learned her formal acting training from the Anupam Kher School of Acting where she was one of the most devoted students.
After pursuing a fruitful career in modelling, Padukone ventured into acting. She began her journey by starring in the music video for the song Naam Hai Tera, part of an independent pop album Aap Kaa Surroor by Himesh Reshammiya.
In 2006, Deepika made her film debut in the Kannada film Aishwarya, opposite actor Upendra.
In 2007, she made a successful Bollywood debut with Farah Khan’s international hit Om Shanti Om starring opposite Shahrukh Khan.
Her performance was much appreciated, earning the actress a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award as well as her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination.
