Leaving for the Wedding at Lake Como, Italy

The couple left for their destination wedding in Italy on 10th November. Ranveer entered the airport with “Mehandi lagake rakhna” song playing on his jukebox. Well! only Ranveer could pull off a Dhamakedar entry like this.

These pictures are the proof that DeepVeer’s Mehandi ceremony was a dreamy affair and just like us, the guests at the wedding also seem to be in awe of the couple.

Ranveer’s Mehandi Design:

Ranveer applied a little henna design on his palm for the occasion as well. It had a dainty Diya with Deepika’s name written under it.

In a typical Konkani style pertaining to his wife’s culure, Ranveer made us fall in love with him (again!) with his dulha avatar.

Here are the pictures:

Outfit:

While Ranveer was dressed in a white and gold Konkani poshak with dupatta, Deepika wore a muted-red and gold kanchivaram saree.

By the way, did you know that Deepika’s sari was a gift from her mother, Mrs Ujala Padukone.

The sari was designed by the Label Advaya by the House Of Angadi. The sari was a pure gold zari Kanjivaram brocade Silk, with Gandaberunda (two-headed bird) motif which is the mythological figure that is also represented as the coat of arms of the Mysore Maharaja.

Jewellery:

Designed by Sabyasachi, Deepika wore elaborated layered necklaces, statement math patti, and traditional heavy jhumkas.

Ranveer looked adorable in the head jewellery.

Sikh Wedding:

The Anand-karaj ceremony that took place on 15th of November had the bride and groom (and even the guests) dressed in red outfits.

Here’s a closer look.

Outfit:

While Ranveer wore red sherwani paired with an embellished dupatta with heavy golden borders, Deepika flaunted her bride look in a beautiful red lehanga.

Though Deepika’s red lehanga by Sabyasachi made her look extravagantly stunning, the hidden message on her dupatta stole the show. Her dupatta had “Sadaa saubhagyawati bhava” engraved on it.

Jewellery:

Deepika’s bridal jewellery included a statement maang tika, layered choker necklace, beautiful rings along with that huge shining rock, a nath and statement earrings, all by Sabyasachi.

Her chooda and kaleere were by Raabta by Rahul.

Mangalsutra:

The diamond-studded gold and black mangalsutra is equal parts of tradition and modern fashion and looked more than elegant.

Did you know the worth of Deepika’s mangalsutra? Well! our guess is approximately around 20 lakhs.
